  • Description
Total Housing Units by Town reports the estimated total number of housing units disaggregated by occupancy status.
  • Full Description
A housing unit may be a house, an apartment, a mobile home, a group of rooms or a single room that is occupied (or, if vacant, intended for occupancy) as separate living quarters. Separate living quarters are defined as those in which occupants (present or intended) may live separately from other occupants in the building or structure and have direct access from outside the building or through a common hall. Occupied status is given to housing units that are the current permanent residence for the person or people living therein at the time of the interview. These estimates reflect boundaries of urban areas defined based on Census 2010 data, and as such may not reflect the results of ongoing urbanization. This data originates with the American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates, table B25002.
